Soprano

Biography

Édith Adetu portrait

Édith Adetu is a young dramatic soprano from Romania. Possessing a dark vocal timbre and an effortless dramatic agility, she has mastered a vast repertoire. In 2021, she won the Second Prize at the International Singing Competition "Luciano Neroni." Her desire for knowledge has been a significant motivation for delving deeper into vocal studies, and in 2023, she obtained a Doctorate in Music. Additionally, in 2023, she became a member of the Experimental Studio for Musical Theatre Arts "Ludovic Spiess" at the National Opera of Bucharest. Her constant concern for her artistic evolution drives her to participate in masterclasses conducted by remarkable lyrical artists, such as: Gabriela Beňačková, Vasile Moldoveanu, Maria Slătinaru, Viorica Cortez, Ruxandra Donose, Nelly Miricioiu, Ramón Vargas and many others.

She collaborates with representative institutions of lyrical art, both nationally and internationally, such as: Bucharest National Opera House, National Theater of Opera and Ballet "Oleg Danovski" Constanța, Timișoara National Opera House, International Festival "Open Gold" (Lucca), "Mythos Opera Festival" (Catania), Teatro Filarmonico Piove di Sacco, Dramatic Voices Program in Berlin, London Performing Academy of Music, Conway Hall (London), Ensemble Orquesta, and many others. Her opera repertoire consists of both dramatic agility and spinto-dramatic roles. Other representative aspects of the repertoire addressed are the Lieder repertoire and vocal-symphonic repertoire.
